One thing that helped me practice personal development was my Ipod. I recommend them to anyone who wishes to seriously pursue personal development. Why an Ipod? Well, it's portable, can hold thousands of songs that can be organized by artist, genre, or play lists.

I find the Ipods are very easy to manage and use compared to other makes. I set everything up on my computer, which is easier than with little tiny buttons. I try to set up many different play lists with different themes. For example, I have a weight loss play list, a stop procrastinating play list, and be present play list among others.

When do I listen to these mp3s? Well, whenever I can. Before bed, I usually listen to some type of hypnosis mp3. This helps me relax and fall asleep easily. I can set up a play list that will only play 2-3 mp3s, that way, I won't kill the battery or have to wake up to turn it off, which is another benefit of Ipod of regular or cheap mp3 players.

I decided to go with the video model. I wasn't sure about spending the extra money at first, but time after time, it has proven itself valuable. I've downloaded Oprah's web casts on the book "A New Earth" which was written by Eckhart Tolle. I try to watch these when I am a passenger in a car on a long trip, or in a waiting room somewhere.

Actually it also came in handy when I had my last baby. I put some movies on it for my husband, and while I was patiently waiting to have the baby, my husband could watch movies. Also, after the little girl came into this world, it was nice to keep us occupied while waiting to be discharged.

One time I had car trouble and was stranded for two hours by myself waiting for help to arrive. I was so happy, I happen to have my Ipod with me. I watch Oprah in the middle of nowhere in my car. It was great. Well, I thought so anyways.

Another time I usually listen to mp3s is my drive to and from work. It helps start my day off right and relaxes me after a long and frustrating day at work. Before my Ipod, I would think about my day, what happened, what's going to happen tomorrow. Even when I went to sleep at night, my mind was consumed with work. I didn't know how to separate myself.

It would take me at least an hour to get to sleep at night and even then, I would end up dreaming about work, what would happen, what I would try to get done the next. And the worst thing about work was the politics. Politics appear in every work place. Other people call it drama, but when management is a part, I call it politics.

Now, it takes me less than 10 minutes to fall asleep. From the time I lay my head down, to deep sleep. I am so happy. I get a better night sleep and wake up happier in the morning. I have changed my life for the better. - 16890

Have you ever heard of the action figure Stretch Armstrong? Stretch was a popular 70's toy superhero made of a gel-like substance. Though he was a mere foot tall Stretch Armstrong could still be wrenched and pulled far beyond his proper shape.

Stretching a toy beyond its intended shape is one thing, but doing the same with foundational, biblical doctrines is dangerous. You see, when misinformed Christian teachers stretch the gospel doctrine of grace beyond biblical boundaries the theological Stretch Armstrong of antinomianism raises its misshapen head. Martin Luther originated the term "antinomianism" to describe grace-stretching teaching. In this regard A. W. Tozer wrote:

The advocates of antinomianism in our times deserve our respect for at least one thing: their motive is good. Their error springs from their very eagerness to magnify grace and exalt the freedom of the gospel. They start right, but allow themselves to be carried beyond what is written by a slavish adherence to undisciplined logic. It is always dangerous to isolate a truth and then press it to its limit without regard to other truths (Paths To Power).

Antinomian teachers today abound. They are in every alleged Christian bookstore, on every radio station and occupy churches and pulpits in every city. As in Martin Luther's time, they twist and misinterpret scriptural grace so that obeying Christ is lowered to only a suggestion. Even a "Christian" who is incestuous or murderous will be ushered into eternal paradise. We should obey reasons the antinomian, but obedience isn't essential to enter heaven. Consider the celebrated Tony Evans' antinomian notions:

You could also substitute other sins into this formula, such as homosexuality Christians may be performing in these unacceptable ways, but that's not who they are. It's an identity issue (Free At Last, p. 28).

Committed Christians may fall into sin, but a carnal Christian bathes in it. He has the mindset, motivation and methodology of sin...First of all, the carnal Christian is a genuine Christian. He has received Christ as Savior, but refuses to submit to Him and serve Him as Lord. Christ is not allowed to occupy the throne of a carnal life. It is possible to be on your way to heaven but be of no earthly good because you compromise your faith (Booklet: The Carnal Christian).

In this way antinomian theologians distort the scriptures and the gospel to fit their stretchy systems. "Once saved, always saved," they promise. "Carnal? Sexually immoral? Don't worry," they quip, "eternal salvation is not at stake." The popular notion that Christians are accepted in Christ by grace while engaging in disobedience to Christ in spite of grace screams, "Antinomianism!"

From Satan's promise: "ye shall not surely die" in Genesis chapter 3 to the false prophets who declared "Peace, peace" to sinners in Jeremiah 6:14 - antinomian promises deceived the unrepentant. And from Paul's warning about using liberty as an "occasion to the flesh" to those who changed "the grace of our God into lasciviousness" in the book of Jude - antinomianism distorted the gospel. And from James' "faith without works" to the condemned doctrines of the Baalamites and Jezebel in Revelation chapter 2, the scriptures wail like a siren against antinomianism. Beware of Antinomianism this may steal upon you in a thousand forms, so that you cannot be too watchful against it. Take heed of everything, whether in principle or practice, which has any tendency thereto. Even that great truth, that 'Christ is the end of the law,' may betray us into it, if we do not consider that he has adopted every point of the moral law, and grafted it into the law of love (Wesley: A Plain Account of Christian Perfection, p. 52).

Today's evangelical Christian scene is replete with preaches who seem to have a zeal for God, but sadly, their zeal is not according to understanding. They howl, "Carnal? Don't worry your salvation is assured!" "Saved by works," they sneer, if some servant of the Lord insists that in order to be saved all must "pursue holiness because without it no one will see the Lord" (Heb 12:14). This, the lettered elite of modern, evangelical Christianity do to the exposing of their vibrant, antinomian colors. - 16890

In this article, we are going to review some of the Canadian small business credit cards, what they offer and why some cards are not your best options.

Why do you need a business credit card? What is the purpose of having a major credit card? Can I control my spending if I apply for a major credit card? Notice this piece started out with questions, which I feel are three of the most important question anyone should ask, seeking a credit card. If you do not ask these questions before a applying for a credit card, guess what you will be saying later. Why did I apply for a credit card? What was my purpose? I wish I could have controlled my spending. This may or may not happen, but if you are searching for a credit card, you may want to ask your self-first, why you need a credit card. YES or NO the answer is clear you need to apply for a business credit card to keep things straight.

Balance Transfer cards offer fixed rates for the endurance of the 'balance, and for the balance transfers made sometimes up to six months of the cards membership. Some Canadian Small Business Credit Cards offer rebates and enable you to earn money back on eligible purchases on the credit card. The cards have a 'built-in smart chip for Internet security,' and have no limits on the cash rebates. This card qualifies small business owners with good credit.

Let's stop and review the cards shortly to see which cards are best for you? I'm considering the last card on the list, since some of the Business Cards offer cash back rewards, and does not appear to have an annual fee. However, I would read the Terms & Conditions, since it might state in the agreement that an annual fee will apply after the first year. You want to know what the fee is on this card. The cards that promote annual fees are cards you want to be careful of when applying, since some have hidden stipulations and fees. The "Built-in Smart chip for Internet Security is also appealing, since this is not always offered with credit cards, and the security is worth paying an annual fee, since you are protected. NOTE: be sure to look in the Terms & Agreements, searching for Fraud Protection. Since the card providers put a chip on the card of course you are protected more so if you didn't have the chip; still you want to know what the fees if any are if the card is lost or stolen. There should not be any fees; however, some card providers will do their best to get money.

The three preceding ideas for cards may be of some value, however, the offers do not seem appealing since you have high interest rates possibly after the Introductory, and as well, you have annual fees with no rewards. - 16890

How Will You Know You've Reached Your Goals?

A lot of us tend to start out in the direction of goals, never quite knowing exactly what it is that we want, and how we'll know once we have it.

That seems a little reckless don't you think? You wouldn't drive somewhere with no destination, would you? Is that even possible? Driving somewhere, and not driving anywhere? You would just wander until the gas tank ran on empty, or until you wound up somewhere close to what you had in mind, but not quite it.

That is just like in life, and just like in business.

If you have no idea where it is that you're heading you probably aren't getting anywhere. You must give yourself a target to shoot for. You have to know that you want what it is that you want because it will allow you to spend time with your children, and to go on vacation with your family whenever you want, not because you just want to "be happy".

You need to have that future, that destination, created so you can actually get there eventually.

It might sound nuts, but it makes perfect sense. If you don't have a clear idea in mind, how will you know if the tasks you are doing every day are moving you towards, or away from your vision?

You can not.

You can not possibly expect to create the life you desire if you have no idea what that life is.

Don't worry if you don't have an exact blueprint of how you're going to get there at this point. You just need a picture of that final objective that will keep you moving in that direction and not so many others at once.

What should that picture look like?

You first have to get to the essence of your goal. Discover why it is that you desire what you want. The more specific you get, the better.

After that, with you goal in mind, start asking yourself how you will know you have reached your goal. You might see yourself checking your bank statement that has grown exponentially, or you see yourself taking a trip in a private jet with the kids and wife. Whatever this image is, see it vividly.

If you do just these two steps you will achieve more than you ever thought you could. Instead of moving in a million directions at once, you will force all of that energy towards one objective.

There are a lot of factors to consider when selecting the appropriate franchise opportunity. Not only do you want the franchise to be a right fit for you - you need as well to work with a franchisor that will be around for years.

How can you determine if a franchise system is healthy? In the franchise book, The Educated Franchisee we believe in sharing knowledge. A little franchise education could be valuable in this area.

One fundamental measure is the system's pace of franchise growth.

Too Fast: Quick franchise growth may seem like a good thing at first but it is possible for a system to develop too fast. It is important to be sure the franchisor has the people and systems in place to exhaustively supervise your training and on-going support. For example, if a system of 50 franchisees adds 30 additional franchisees in a year, the rate of franchise growth may be too fast.

Too Slow: If franchise growth is slow there could also be a problem. Why isn't the franchise attracting new people? Possibly there are concerns with the business model - problems that make it difficult for existing franchisees to succeed. When potential franchisees do 'validation calls' they may hear about problems and decide to look elsewhere for a business. Or perhaps the franchisor doesn't have the right staff and has to limit franchise growth. Either way, a lack of new franchisees may be a sign of an unhealthy franchise system.

Just Right: regular franchise growth over time is an indicator of good management and a healthy system. One way to gauge steady franchise growth is to determine the pace at which the franchise grew each year both in absolute and percent terms. To find this data for the past three years you can look in the Franchise Disclosure Document under Item 20 - the List of Outlets. All the data you need regarding franchise growth will be there for you in a clear, easy to understand format.

Rule of Thumb for Most Franchises: As a rule of thumb for medium-sized franchisors, the number of franchisees brought per year should be between 10% and 35% of the total number of franchisees. For example, a company with 100 franchisees should possess the infrastructure to add up to 35 new franchisees in the coming year.

Rule of Thumb for Large and Small Franchises: This formula doesn't work for very large or very small companies, however, so when analyzing behemoth or boutique franchise systems consider the ratio of operational support personnel compared to new franchisees. A ratio of one support person for every 10-20 new franchisees tells you that new franchisees are likely getting the preparation and support they need to succeed.

Talk to Franchisees: But don't assume! It is decisive that you talk to existing franchisees. Find out about the training they had initially and what they receive in terms of on-going support. Do they find the staff to be knowledgeable? Responsive? Does the franchisee feel comfortable calling on them for help? Pay particular attention to the information you glean from new franchisees. Your experience will most closely reflect theirs.

Meet the Support Staff: Generally, a good franchise investigation ends with a visit to the franchisor's headquarters to get last queries answered and meet the staff face-to-face. Spend extra time with the support staff. Make certain you are comfortable with their experience, competence, style, and ability to communicate, since you will have to work well with them and trust their advice on an on-going basis.

There are many things to think about when researching a franchise business that will meet your needs, but it doesn't matter how much you like the business if the franchisor isn't viable. Collect the franchise information you need and be certain the system you choose is growing and has a good number of satisfied franchisees. Franchise growth is a key part of your due diligence.
