Bouquets Are An Ideal Gift For Any Occasion

By Cathleen Mendoza

Bouquet is a French word meaning an arrangement of flowers. It entails arrangement of a flower bunch in different ways, after which they can then be finely wrapped and presented as gift items for particular occasions.

Bouquet preparation is recognized as an art that needs considerable patience and perseverance to learn and practice. It is also known as floristry and involves artistic floral tapestry by using flowers, herbs, leaves and stems.

Bouquet making starts with choosing the suitable flowers for the bouquet and then cutting them so that they can be arranged into a bouquet. Then the dry leaves are removed and a specific floral design is created, after which they are tied up and wrapped.

The final design of the floral arrangement depends not just on the occasion for which it is being prepared but also on the unique style of the particular florist. Other factors which determine the design of a bouquet are the abundance (or dearth) of flowers in that specific season and the expected market price of the bouquet.

It is also worth noting that the same type of flowers can assume contrasting meanings in some cultures in different parts of the globe. Hence, a bouquet must be chosen wisely if you wish to gift it to a person who hails from another culture.

But, there are a few flowers that have identical meanings across different cultures. For example, you can present a bunch of red roses to your beloved irrespective of his or her cultural identity, as red roses symbolize love and passion in almost all cultures.

Bouquets have a particular shelf life too. The flowers die soon, but, if you take proper care of the flowers and keep them in vases filled with water, they might last for some days.

If you visit a good florist, you usually have a wide range of bouquets to select from, which will be ideal gift items for different occasions. As an alternative to going to a florist for purchasing flowers, you can also choose to place an order with an online florist. - 16890
