How To Wipe Out The Cockroach Population Infesting Your House

By Albert Keithly

Cockroaches are small but irksome creatures that are found in almost all regions and climes. They generally inhabit the dark and wet corners of a home and survive on all types of organic waste. They not just spoil food and other items but also transmit germs of contagious diseases. Thus, one needs to eliminate the cockroach population in a lasting and effective manner.

Many people facing the cockroach menace turn to usage of sprays and insecticides that are equally dangerous for human beings, especially for the kids and household pets. Thus, it is recommended to use natural methods for removing the cockroaches from the residence instead of using harmful chemicals.

You can begin with bringing about small changes in the kitchen routines like keeping the kitchen sink and the area underneath it clean and ensuring that unwashed utensils are not kept in the sink for a long time. The areas in and around the kitchen sink, being wet and dark provide cockroaches an ideal spot to thrive in and multiply. You must try to keep all your food stuff covered in order to stop enticing the cockroaches to nibble on your food.

It is important to seal all the gaps and openings, particularly those close to your drainages and water pipes as these are the primary points of entry for cockroaches. You should also ensure that you stop the cockroaches from finding a fertile breeding ground by keeping your sewers and the areas around it clean and dry. If you live in an area, where there are public garbage bins around, you must try getting them removed as they could be one of the main causes behind the cockroach infestation in your residence.

Lastly, if you are not able to drive away the cockroaches by natural methods, you must opt for chemicals like boric acid that are milder and less dangerous for human beings than other stronger sprays and pesticides. - 16890
