Cheat River Festival Artists Market

There will be a Cheat River Festival Artists Market on May 2, 2009. The event will be held at the flat field area along the river, Beech Run Road, Albright, WV 26519. The Cheat River Festival Artists Market is to celebrate the beauty of the river and to help to restore the Cheat River.

On May 1 from 12:00 noon to 10:00 A.M. and May 2 from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. the vendors will be allowed to set up their booth. The festival will officially start from 12:00 noon to 11:00 P.M. This is a juried event that is held outdoors without cover and will feature fine works of arts and crafts.

There will be other activities besides the crafts and arts being display. You will enjoy the climbing wall, a tent for outreach from our reclamation partners, display from raptor rehabilitation. There is even a live afternoon performance by Johnny Staats. He is an award winning mandolin player that will also provide a workshop for the audience.

The Cheat River Festival Artists Market has been held for the past 14 years to celebrate the beauty of the Cheat River. There were 2,500 attendees based on last years average attendees. For this year the promoters are expecting to have the same amount of attending the fair. There will be a $10.00 admission fee for the vendors.

There will be a $1.00 visitor and vendor parking space per car. The organizers have 20 units of restrooms around the site for visitors and vendors. There will be electricity and water provided by the promoters for the vendors. Tables and chairs will not be provided by the promoters for the vendors.

The promoters for this year are looking for 40 craft and art vendors and 6 food vendors. The space fee for craft vendors is $50 for a 10 x10 booth and for the food vendors the space fee is $150 for a 12x12 booth. - 16890
