Procrastination seems to be a part of our nature. We waited until the last minute to study for exams, we wrote papers in the wee hours of the night. We've been procrastinating for years. Overcoming procrastination isn't easy, but it can be done. You need a little determination and a few tips to help you get on task and stay on task.

If the problem is that there is something else you would prefer doing then make that your reward for getting the first job done. For example, maybe you don't want to go to the dentist, but you wouldn't mind getting your hair styled. Schedule your hairstyle immediately after your dentist appointment. It will give you a way to reward yourself and make you do the less appealing task.
When a task overwhelms you break it up into small units. This is an extremely effective way to stop procrastinating. Smaller units of a big job can make it seen more achievable.
