Find Alternative Ways to Earn Money - Sell Used Textbooks

By Greg Shuey

There is always a pile of old textbooks sitting idly in every college student's room. Little does he know that those text books can be converted into instant extra cash. Sell your used textbooks and see a flow of cash come in!

Buying from college or even commercial bookstores can cost you a lot of money. Textbooks are expensive when you buy here. What's more disappointing is that these books are used for just one semester since another set of books will be needed next semester. If you want to find ways of earning extra cash, what you can do is sell used textbooks. You can actually do this in a variety of ways.

The college bookstore should be your first stop if you want to sell used textbooks. You are already in campus so this should prove to be easy. Although you cannot sell it to them at the same price you got it, they can still offer you up to almost more than half of the original purchase price.

There are other students who will be taking the same classes you took so they would be needing the same type of books. Many students would be very much interested to buy secondhand books especially those that are still in good condition. Not to mention their affordability. Place advertisements in your school bulletin boards with your contact number so they can easily get in touch with you once they are interested.

Use your networks. Utilize your friends. Nowadays, online social network sites are a great tool in marketing your items. You can post a shout out to all the friends in your list that you are selling used textbooks. These should be easy. You are broadening your potential market by using Facebook, My Space, and Multipy.

Market your books through a variety of ways such as internet postings, bulletin board postings, and word-of-mouth. This is the perfect time to put your personality and social skills to good use. You can ask the help of the people in your school organizations, and you'll see that there are a lot of students looking for more affordable books.

Never underestimate the kind of help your friends can give you. If you want to sell used textbooks, your friends should be the first people you seek help from. They probably know someone who is in need of your books and this will expand the possibilities of making these books fly out of the stalls.

During these times, you should be ingenious and resourceful especially in making money yourself. Look around you. There are things that you aren't using anymore that you can make money with. Convert trash into cash. Sell used textbooks and make good use out of something old. - 16890
