My friend was becoming more and more excited as the event came, as it was her moment. And it finally came at the latest craft show. She put her best food forward, and her enthusiasm made the cupcakes she made a complete success. There wasn't a drop of rain in sight, even with the unpredictable weather in Southern California. Through the overcast clouds, one can see the sun and its sign of a sunny California day ahead.
There were also a few other talented craftspeople around; and as they were vintage vendors, they were able to help my friend set up the display in only thirty minutes. The patrons themselves started arriving at around nine in the morning, and I watched and helped my friend greet them all with a smiling face. The co-coordinator of the event also stopped by the booth pretty early. With her young brother in tow, she tested the soaps my friend had on display and said mostly positive remarks about them.
There were a good number of customers early on in the morning, and the cupcake soaps sold like, well, cupcakes. The weather decided to be less than cooperative then, but a good amount of customers were still able to buy whilst we were packing.
The event itself was cancelled by the coordinators at around noon on account of the rain; besides, most of the participants have packed up anyway; no point in moving forward when the rain clearly showed no signs of stopping. It was a good thing, too, as the rain only got stronger towards the afternoon.
My friend was hardly discouraged, though, even though it rained cats and dogs. As she said, she even had a pretty good first time at the fair; you can be sure you'll see more of her cupcake soaps in the future. You may even get to meet and greet her yourself if you attend a craft show in the area! - 16890
